Tongji University has established close ties with universities such as the Free University of Berlin, University of Lyon 1 in France, and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, engaging in cutting-edge research on water treatment agents. The newly developed coagulants, decolorizers, and biodegradable water quality stabilizers have been promoted and applied in Shanghai, Henan, Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Liaoning, Sichuan, Zhejiang, and other regions. A variety of water treatment products have been successfully industrialized, including polyepoxysuccinic acid (with an annual production line of 5,000 tons), modified polyepoxysuccinic acid, polyaspartic acid (with an annual production line of 1,000 tons), polysilicate aluminum sulfate (for papermaking and drinking water treatment with an annual production of 50,000 tons), ferric polyphosphate (solid form with an annual production of 4,000 tons), polymerized aluminum chloride (iron), algicidal coagulants, wastewater decolorizers, and reverse osmosis special scale inhibitors, among more than 40 products.
