I. Project Introduction (Briefly introduce the basic situation of the project) With the general improvement of human socio-economic capabilities and the gradual enhancement of medical and nursing awareness, the use of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) has been rapidly expanding in scope and quantity. PPCPs are becoming a type of 'new pollutants' that are continuously entering the environment. Due to their bioactivity, bioaccumulation, and quasi-persistence, PPCPs have long-term potential and irreversible impacts on the environment; pollution from PPCPs has become an important factor threatening global ecological environmental safety and human health. How to effectively control PPCP environmental pollution has now become a major issue facing all humanity. II. Cooperation Content (1) Introduction of Main Related Technologies (Mainly introduce the main technical content involved in this project, as well as other supporting technologies required) From the production source, use process, Starting with key technologies and specialized equipment for the entire process control of environmental purification, we aim to achieve a sequential reduction in the pollution concentration of PPCPs throughout the process. For the production source, a new process of catalytic microelectrolysis-enhanced biochemistry-efficient separation treatment has been adopted, which solves the technical difficulties in the treatment of PPCPs production wastewater with poor biodegradability and low mud-water separation efficiency, achieving efficient and low-consumption deep treatment of production wastewater and high-efficiency control at the source of PPCPs production. Based on the emission characteristics of PPCPs during their use, a multi-barrier control technology for PPCPs in hospital wastewater, livestock and poultry wastewater, and municipal wastewater has been constructed. This technology solves the problems of low removal rates and a lack of control techniques for PPCPs in traditional wastewater treatment processes. While meeting the discharge standards for conventional pollutants, it achieves efficient control of PPCPs. At the level of environmental purification, new environmentally functional materials with specific adsorption and efficient degradation of PPCPs have been invented. The key technical difficulties of severe substrate interference and low removal efficiency in the reduction of low-concentration PPCPs in the environment have been solved, achieving deep purification of trace and difficult-to-degrade PPCPs in the environment. (II) Proposed Cooperation Regions and Partners (Mainly explaining the regions where the project hopes to cooperate and the recipients) Environmental protection enterprises from different provinces across the country engaged in pharmaceutical wastewater treatment, municipal wastewater treatment, hospital wastewater treatment, and water environment restoration. It possesses the National Key Laboratory of Pollution Control and Resource Utilization, the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Water Environment in the Yangtze River Basin, the National Engineering Research Center for Urban Pollution Control, and other institutions. The environmental science and engineering discipline ranked A+ in the fourth round of subject evaluation and was selected for the national "First-Class Discipline" construction plan. Environmental engineering is a national key discipline and a Shanghai municipal key discipline, with significant influence both domestically and internationally; it holds the national Class A certificates for environmental engineering design and environmental impact assessment, enjoying a high reputation in the field of environmental science and engineering. It has undertaken and participated in projects funded by national science and technology support plans such as the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan," "Twelfth Five-Year Plan," "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan," 863 Program, 973 Program, National Key R&D Plan, etc., with nearly 5 projects receiving national-level science and technology awards in recent years and more than 30 provincial and ministerial level awards.
