Introduction: Click to view
The utility model device is delivered to the shunt site using an interventional method with a transporter, then released. After release, it expands into a dumbbell-shaped elastic structure that firmly fixes at the shunt site, suitable for different sizes of shunts. It is used to treat patients with congenital heart disease who have left-to-right shunts leading to severe pulmonary hypertension. The device features minimally invasive, low cost, and easy to promote characteristics. The second and third patents have not only been validated in animal experiments but have also been successfully applied in clinical practice, with more than 40 surgeries completed. All patients were cured without any adverse reactions, and related articles have been published both domestically and internationally. The appraisal opinion from the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission is that it is internationally leading. Below is the patent award situation: 1. Clinical research on the treatment of difficult-to-treat patent ductus arteriosus with a valve-containing intravascular stent won the Third Prize in the 4th Shanghai Clinical Medical Achievement Award in 2001. 2. Basic and clinical application research on the treatment of giant patent ductus arteriosus with a valve-containing intravascular stent won the Third Prize in the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2002. 3. Clinical application research on non-open chest treatment of congenital patent ductus arteriosus won the Second Prize in the Ministry of Railways Science and Technology Progress Award in 2002.
