The 'Medical Space Emotion and Rhythmic Lighting Intervention System' is the result of integrating major projects undertaken by the research team, including the National High-Tech Research and Development Plan (863 Program) and national natural science foundation projects. Based on the LED innovative integrated interface technology proposed in the 'Eleventh Five-Year Plan' 863 Project 'Research on the Integrated Application of Semiconductor Lighting Technology in the Urban Best Practice Area of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo (Approval Number: 2006AA03A168)', the research team has combined medical space light environment parameters obtained from the national natural science foundation project 'Study on the Emotional Effects of Spatial Lighting in Cardiology Intensive Care Units (CCU)' that are beneficial for regulating patients' emotions, as well as the mechanism of action of LED spectral energy distribution on human biological rhythms obtained from the 'Twelfth Five-Year Plan' 863 Project 'Research on Non-Visual Lighting Technology with LEDs', to form a set of interdisciplinary, A multi-parameter composite medical space emotional and rhythmic lighting intervention system. Based on the active exploration and in-depth research of the 'healthy light environment' for a series of residential spaces such as healthcare, elderly care, and office environments by the research team, this achievement provides a theoretical foundation, technical support, and solutions for improving the evidence-based design level of lighting environments in residential spaces in China and enhancing spatial experience. With strong support and promotion from the National Science and Technology Department and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the research team and collaborating units have been working together since 2008 to tackle key issues, achieving a series of research results based on healthy lighting theory. Based on these findings, a medical space emotional and rhythmic lighting intervention system has been developed and has been demonstrated on a large scale. The main innovations of this project include: 1. Researching the luminous characteristics of LEDs, prototyping innovative integrated semiconductor lighting devices, and demonstrating them in the core area of the World Expo. Summarizes the three-in-one LED innovation integration method of semiconductor devices, visual efficacy, and architectural design; 2. Based on the theory of photobiological effects, through sleep and polar experiments, research was conducted to obtain the monochromatic light wavelength that has the greatest impact on melatonin secretion and the optimal white light illuminance color temperature combination that is conducive to human circadian rhythms. With this information, a set of LED lighting fixtures that help regulate human circadian rhythms was trial-produced, and lighting renovation work was carried out in the living quarters of the Antarctic Great Wall Station; 3. Through subjective and objective experimental verification, the influence of illuminance, color temperature, and light color, as well as the duration and length of exposure time, on patient emotions was quantified, resulting in a set of lighting parameters that are beneficial for alleviating patients' negative emotions. 4. Integrate the lighting parameters that are conducive to regulating body rhythms and emotions into the LED innovative integrated media art interface, complete the trial production of the "Medical Space Emotional and Rhythmic Lighting Intervention System," Demonstration applications have been carried out in multiple municipal hospitals. The LED innovative integrated media art interface technology was demonstrated at the west and south entrance halls of the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Center, creating light media interface works titled "The Dream of the East" and "Blooming," which created a visually artistic sensory effect. The lighting renovation of the living quarters at the Antarctic Great Wall Station based on research findings on the impact of LED's spectral energy distribution on human biological rhythms significantly improved the quality of life for the scientific expedition members. Multiple sets of mood-regulating and rhythm-regulating lighting fixtures enriched the wintering life of the scientific expedition members and received good social feedback. The application of an emotional intervention module in the catheterization laboratory of Tongji University Affiliated Tenth People's Hospital achieved good social feedback and economic effects. The medical space emotional and rhythm lighting intervention system was applied in the CICU ward of Tongji University Affiliated Tenth People's Hospital, the orthopedic surgery operating room of Shanghai Changzheng Hospital, and The gynecological and obstetric home-like ward of Xinyu People's Hospital has carried out demonstrative practical applications. Compared with similar medical spaces, the occupancy rate of patients in medical spaces equipped with an emotional and rhythmic lighting intervention system has increased by 10%-20%, indicating a promising market prospect. The project also has positive theoretical and practical guidance significance for the health lighting design of hospitals in China.
