The engine is the "heart" of a car, and different types of engines determine the type and ultimate performance of the vehicle. In engine design, the entire cycle from process and equipment design, manufacturing to production launch takes up two-thirds of the time, making it a limiting factor for engine model changes and upgrades. Currently, the overall layout and design of processes in China's engine industry still rely on manual empirical design, with its design concepts and methods remaining at a rather backward level. This is incompatible with the development of China's automobile industry, as key parts production lines must be planned and designed using a large amount of foreign exchange, relying on foreign expertise. Especially after China joined FTO (Free Trade Area), the sedan industry will face a severe test of survival. Without flexible and high-tech design and manufacturing technologies that involve "producing, designing, planning, and innovating simultaneously," the industry cannot adapt to the challenges it faces. It becomes particularly important. The engine is a complex system with numerous components and intricate structures that are interrelated in their design. Therefore, the processing of its parts must be complex, and the technical requirements are extremely stringent. This poses significant challenges for technicians who develop machining processes. Moreover, different technicians have varying technical backgrounds, leading to considerable randomness in the machining processes they devise. To produce high-quality, efficient, and low-cost engines, it is essential to aim for the most economical use of human and material resources in developing the machining processes for engine parts. The rapid advancement of modern computer technology and software has provided us with powerful tools and means to tackle this problem. The development of an engine critical component machining process system can automatically generate the machining processes for engine parts. Achieve the processing technology of engine parts with minimal cost, minimizing the possibility of huge losses.
