This project belongs to the field of road engineering technology. Road infrastructure is one of the important national assets that maintain the normal operation of modern society, and the quality of its pavement affects the operational efficiency of society, public travel costs, and perceptions. For a long time, due to the wide distribution of road infrastructure and heavy traffic loads, there have been widespread issues such as low coverage of detection data, extended update times, non-optimized overall management and maintenance plans, and improper timing for maintenance. Over the past decade, China's investment in road facility maintenance has increased by more than 350%, marking the arrival of an era where "construction and maintenance are equally emphasized." The intelligent work of road facility maintenance and operation management faces significant challenges. In response to the above problems, the project team, through years of joint research and development with industry and academia, has made breakthroughs in bottlenecks such as the evolution mechanism of pavement damage, multi-dimensional high-frequency detection of pavements, and intelligent analysis and decision-making for maintenance. A multi-dimensional high-frequency maintenance big data intelligent analysis technology system for road surfaces has been established, with the following main innovative achievements: (1) Revealed the internal evolution mechanism and characterization relationship of surface damage on roads. Facing the development process of asphalt pavement damage, a multi-scale linkage analysis method for crack propagation in asphalt pavements based on CT and 3D reconstruction technology was established, and the evolution mechanism from microcrack initiation to macroscopic crack formation was analyzed; a fast multipole boundary element method solution for vibration wave transmission response in full frequency domain was constructed, which analyzed the coupling mechanism and behavior of vibration wave transmission between vehicle-road vibrations; clustering analysis of road surface damage and temperature field distribution modes was conducted, and a holographic characterization method for road roughness, road surface deformation, and damage was established. (2) Independently developed lightweight high-frequency inspection equipment for pavement performance. Based on the coupling mechanism of vehicle-road vibrations, a distributed sensing system based on MEMS micro-vibration sensors was independently developed. Achieve lightweight multi-point vehicle data acquisition and precise analysis of road surface irregularities; based on high-performance SOC hardware design and digital sampling technology, develop an intelligent frequency-variable vibration acquisition module, breaking through the difficulty of spatially uniform sampling at different speeds in complex traffic environments; construct an infrared-grayscale binocular vehicle imaging mode, research and develop a low-power vehicle processing system supporting AI algorithms, to achieve real-time analysis and high-frequency use of road surface HD images. (3) Create a cloud-edge integrated road facility big data management system and intelligent analysis platform. For the mixed sensing system for road performance perception, innovatively build a cloud-edge integrated big data management architecture, achieving efficient on-site processing and cloud-edge fusion management of hundreds of GBs per day of maintenance field data; based on high-precision spatial position and matching of pavement damage morphological features, complete the restoration and splicing of full-width road surface images; A method for tracing the natural damage time series of road surfaces has been established, supporting the in-depth mining of big data on road facilities and data-driven performance prediction. The project's achievements include obtaining 5 international patents under PCT, 15 authorized Chinese invention patents, 6 utility models, and 8 software copyrights; publishing 67 academic papers, including 42 SCI-indexed articles, 2 ESI highly cited papers, 12 conference reports, with a cumulative citation count of 528 on Google Scholar; participating in the compilation of 2 industry standards and 1 local specification. The appraisal opinions and level retrieval conclusions of the project indicate that it generally reaches the international leading level in the technical fields of high-frequency detection of road performance and intelligent maintenance. The engineering technology system proposed by the project research, 'high-frequency inspection + big data intelligent decision-making,' has been widely accepted by the industry. In Shanghai, a mega-city with over 4,500 kilometers of road network, it has formed large-scale applications and been promoted in more than 2,000 kilometers of expressways and 3,500 kilometers of other roads across ten provinces and cities nationwide. It also supports major engineering projects such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Xiong'an New Area. Within three years, it has driven an increase in new output value of 496 million yuan and profit of 53.85 million yuan, effectively promoting technological progress in intelligent maintenance equipment and management systems for road facilities, achieving significant social and economic benefits.
