This project is a research on the methods and means of integrated performance design for hydraulic excavators in the field of construction machinery, which belongs to the domain of mechanical design principles and methods. With the implementation of 'Made in China 2025', digital and intelligent design of construction machinery products has become essential. The project 'Hydraulic Excavator Integrated Performance Design Platform and Application' follows the systematic product design methodology that starts from the overall system as a premise, utilizing the interdisciplinary integration characteristics brought about by rapid development in analytical technologies such as fluids, solids, and electromechanical coupling, with the aim of integrating solutions to the problems of coupling and conflicts existing in serial design (between main systems and subsystems, between different media, between different physical fields, etc.) under the guidance of customized design methods for the overall performance of hydraulic excavators. Using the 'Integrated Design' method to expand the solution set space of design objects based on specific matching object conditions, a technical platform supporting innovative design for new large-scale construction machinery products has been constructed. The 'Hydraulic Excavator Electromechanical Hydraulic Integration Performance Design Platform and Application' includes two sub-projects in collaboration with Shandong Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.: '20 Tonne Excavator Parameterized Analysis and Performance Simulation System' and '20 Tonne Excavator Overall Performance Testing'. The 'Hydraulic Excavator Electromechanical Hydraulic Integration Performance Design Platform and Application' integrates the results of the above projects, and its content summary is as follows: ① To solve the problem of customized design for hydraulic excavator overall performance, a series of original core technologies have been developed, including 'Hydraulic Excavator Electromechanical Hydraulic Large System Integration Modeling Theory', 'Overall Performance Evaluation Indicators', 'Hydraulic Excavator Performance Test Procedures and Specifications', and 'Overall Operation Efficiency Comparison Method'. A 'Hydraulic Excavator Overall Performance Customized Design Method and Systematized Process' has been constructed, developing the theory of hydraulic excavator performance design. ② A 'Hydraulic Excavator Electromechanical Hydraulic Integrated Performance Design Platform' has been developed, which can achieve rapid response virtual design of systematic performance for a series of complete machine products. ③ The project outcome combining the 'theory' and 'platform': the 'Hydraulic Excavator Electromechanical Hydraulic Integrated Performance Design Platform' not only innovates the design methodology of 'electromechanical hydraulic large system integrated design', but also fills the gap in the digital design of dynamic performance for hydraulic excavators. ④ The project outcome creates a platform-based design model in the process of hydraulic excavator overall performance design, solving both the organizational structure separation problem between new product R&D and customized design, and the process disconnection issue between new product R&D and rapid design of customized products. Its platform-based parametric design method plays a significant role in the performance design of hydraulic components, control strategies, and virtual manufacturing for large electromechanical hydraulic systems such as excavators. The parametric and diversified functions of the project platform provide a basic guarantee for the rapid advancement of innovative customized products in hydraulic excavators into the international market, and have a significant promoting effect on enhancing enterprise competitive driving capabilities and informatization levels. It has been successfully promoted and applied in projects such as the '20-ton Excavator Parameterization Analysis and Performance Simulation System' of Zoomlion Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., the '20-ton Excavator Overall Performance Test', and the '300-ton Super Large Hydraulic Excavator Overall Performance Simulation, Verification, and Exhibition' of Zoomlion Company Limited, achieving market recognition. After years of application practice, it has realized the development of customized series products for excavators by a certain company. The cumulative new sales have exceeded 2 billion yuan, with an increase in tax revenue of 340 million yuan. During the project implementation period, 4 invention patents, 1 software copyright, 3 monographs or teaching materials were published, 2 awards were received, and more than 20 high-quality journal and conference papers related to this work were published.
