This study is the first in China to investigate and analyze the current status of mental health service resources, training on mental health knowledge, intentions to carry out mental health work, and the incidence rate of anxiety and depression symptoms among hospitalized patients. It also used the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis I Disorders (SCID) to study the co-occurrence of mental disorders in hospitalized patients and the detection and recognition abilities of non-psychiatric doctors for mental disorders. The focus was on investigating the personnel structure of consultation liaison psychiatry, common types of mental disorders, and their forms; comparing the characteristics of mental health services provided by tertiary and secondary comprehensive hospitals, as well as the current status of professional training. The research results comprehensively reflect the current status of mental health services provided by Shanghai's comprehensive hospitals and explore possible service models. This project is based on China's mental health work planning. The research, conducted from multiple perspectives and with strong practicality, not only helps comprehensive hospitals to pay attention to and take effective measures to provide mental health services but also provides valuable references for the relevant government departments in formulating policies. Experts have discussed that this study has reached a leading level domestically.
