In the field of transportation, especially in the rail transit sector, there are a large number of loads with motor characteristics. For example, fans and water pumps at major transportation hubs, switch machines controlled by track signals, etc. The normal operation of these loads is directly related to the safe and reliable operation of the transportation system. However, for various reasons, current motor loads in the transportation field still use traditional discrete components to form control and protection systems, such as fuses (FU), circuit breakers (QF), contactors (KM), and thermal relays (FR). In systems composed of discrete components, when electrical products from different assessment standards are combined together for use, the mismatch between their protective and control characteristics can lead to a series of failures, including the burning out of contactor main contacts and the failure of protective devices, posing significant safety hazards to the reliable operation of transportation facilities. Control and Protection Switching Devices ( The Comprehensive Protection System (CPS) serves as a multifunctional electrical appliance, integrating the main functions of isolators, circuit breakers (fuses), contactors, overload (or overcurrent) protection relays/motor protectors, undervoltage protection relays, and other electrical components. It effectively addresses the issues present in discrete component systems and has been successfully applied in various fields. This project builds upon existing invention patents to study the characteristics of motor loads in the transportation sector, especially fans and water pumps at traffic hubs, and investigates the feasibility of applying CPS in the transportation field. Based on CPS, a monitoring system for fans and water pumps at traffic hubs is constructed using fieldbus technology to enhance the reliability of motor load operation in the transportation sector and ensure the normal and orderly operation of traffic.
