Smoking is harmful to health, but the components that are harmful to the human body, such as smoke and tar, are all caused by the combustion of tobacco. Research has found that the nicotine, flavor, and other components that consumers need do not have to be burned from tobacco in order to be absorbed; they will release themselves as long as the temperature of the tobacco leaves is sufficient (about 2000C—3500C). If the tobacco leaves can be continuously heated rather than burned, allowing the effective components in the tobacco to evaporate, it would greatly reduce the release of harmful substances, eliminate secondhand smoke, and hardly affect the taste and consumption habits of smokers. Although this type of healthy cigarette (concept cigarette) has been around for nearly 40 years, it still does not appear on the market. The bottleneck lies in the heating device. There are three possible sources of heat: electric heating, fuel combustion heating, and physical-chemical reaction heating. Electric heating is inconvenient for most consumers, as no one wants to search for a power outlet or use expensive and bulky high-power batteries just to smoke a cigarette. Physical and chemical reactions require a sufficient amount of chemicals to generate heat at high temperatures, and it is difficult to simply control the reaction. This is why no physical and chemical reaction heating has been successful so far, as there are still samples involved.
