I. Project Introduction The damless pumped storage technology is a brand-new principle of highly efficient energy storage, similar to other large-scale physical energy storage technologies, it is the most effective method to solve China's increasingly serious problems of wind and solar power curtailment and grid peak shaving, and belongs to the cutting-edge technology in the field of energy. It has the advantages of both pumped storage and compressed air energy storage technologies: high charging and discharging efficiency (greater than 70%), relative to pumped storage technology, it has a higher energy density, shorter construction period, lower investment, and is not constrained by geological environment. Before energy storage begins, the cushion gas compressor or high-pressure gas cylinder first inflates the water-gas co-container to a certain predetermined pressure; then the high-pressure water pump overcomes the pressure difference inside and outside the water-gas co-container, injects water into it, causing the water level to rise and thus compressing the high-pressure gas inside the energy storage container, achieving pumping energy storage; the high-pressure gas drives the water turbine generator to generate electricity with the help of water.
